# How to Stake lvlUSD

You can stake lvlUSD to earn yield generated by the Level protocol and get [slvlUSD](https://level-money.gitbook.io/level-documentation/how-it-works/slvlusd).

To stake lvlUSD, you must own it first. Please [refer to this guide](https://level-money.gitbook.io/level-documentation/user-guides/how-to-get-lvlusd) to buy lvlUSD.

**Step 1.** Visit [**https://app.level.money/earn**](https://app.level.money/earn)

**Step 2.** In the right-side panel, ensure the "Stake" tab is selected. Enter the amount of lvlUSD you wish to stake, then check the box acknowledging the 7-day cooldown period for unstaking slvlUSD. Finally, click "Increase Allowance" to proceed and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

**Step 3.** After the allowance increase transaction is confirmed, click the "Stake lvlUSD" button and approve the transaction in your wallet.

**Step 4.** Wait for the purchase transaction to confirm. Congratulations! You now own slvlUSD and will begin earning yield. A popup will highlight different ways to use your slvlUSD.

The "Earn" dashboard will also update to display your current slvlUSD balance.
